Storyline & Plot Overview

The crowning jewels of the Empress group—the critically acclaimed “Sleepless: A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and its haunting sequel “SLEEPLESS Nocturne“—have finally been brought to life in a stunning animated adaptation. This is a visceral journey that traverses the delicate path from sweet, youthful romance to the harrowing abyss of corruption and obsession.

The story follows Tomoki Kawai and Yukino Komori, a pair of university students basked in the glow of a blossoming new love. Their idyllic world is shattered during a date to a remote countryside when their car abruptly breaks down, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere. With no other choice, the couple ventures on foot through the dense, encroaching forest in search of aid.

Emerging from the treeline, they discover a colossal, imposing structure shrouded in an ethereal mist: The Black Rose Manor. Little do they know, crossing its threshold will transform their midsummer dream into a never-ending nightmare of carnal entrapment.
